Cruise ships are fascinating, not only in their immense size but also as a logistical exercise; 8 years ago, 75,000 tons was a large Cruise Ship, today Royal Caribbean Lines are just about to launch a 220,000 ton vessel.
The following is a summary of the ships in which we have cruised:
Year: Cruise Ship | Cruise Line | Where we went |
2001 ARCADIA (Old) | P&O | Caribbean |
2002 DAWN PRINCESS | Princess Cruises | Hawaiian Islands / French Polynesia |
2003 STAR PRINCESS | Princess Cruises | Australia & New Zealand |
2005 SAPPHIRE PRINCESS | Princess Cruises | Australia & Far East |
2006 SUMMIT | Celebrity Cruises | Panama Canal (Miami to Los Angeles) |
2007 NAVIGATOR of the SEA's | Royal Caribbean | Norway and Baltic |
2007 ARCADIA (New) | P&O | Caribbean & Mexico |
2008 CENTURY | Celebrity Cruises | Mediterranean |
2009 SEA PRINCESS | Princess Cruises | Caribbean |
On CENTURY we were lucky enough to be invited to the Bridge on departure from Malta's Valetta Harbour. What an experience and quite rare today in view of security restraints on cruise ships.
